CCE announces that the current crowdfunding campaign has already reached an investment volume of around EUR 1.8 million, marking an important milestone for the initiative. The investment volume achieved so far underscores the growing interest in storage technologies and sustainable energy infrastructure in Europe.
The crowdfunding campaign supports the development of four battery energy storage projects (BESS) in Germany. The projects are located in Burgstädt, Mücheln, Sangerhausen, and Hettstedt and together have a total capacity of 44.2 MW. With their ready-to-build status, they make an important contribution to the expansion of sustainable energy infrastructure as well as to the stabilization and flexibilization of the power grid.
With the continuous expansion of renewable energies, there is also an increasing demand for powerful storage solutions. Battery energy storage systems make it possible to store excess energy from wind and solar plants and feed it back into the power grid when needed. This helps to balance grid fluctuations, increase supply security, and integrate renewable energies more efficiently into the energy system.
Germany in particular plays a central role in the expansion of modern storage infrastructure in Europe. The increasing share of renewable energies and the growing electrification of various economic and life areas lead to a growing need for flexible and resilient energy systems. Large-scale battery storage is considered an important component for a future-proof energy system.
Through the crowdfunding campaign, investors have the opportunity to participate directly in the financing of future-oriented storage projects. The investment is offered through the Dutch crowdfunding platform Zonhub, which specializes in sustainable energy projects.
"The great interest in the crowdfunding campaign shows that sustainable energy infrastructure and innovative storage technologies are becoming increasingly important", says Cederik Engel, Managing Director of CCE The Netherlands and CCE Deutschland GmbH. "Battery energy storage systems are an essential building block for the successful integration of renewable energies and a resilient energy system in Europe."
The development of the campaign shows the increasing relevance of storage technologies for the energy transition and modern energy systems. At the same time, it is clear that crowdfunding can play a complementary role in financing sustainable energy projects.
